GE JU-88 Bomber Summary

The twin-engined Junkers Ju 88 was a multi-role bomber aircraft. It was designed in the mid-1930s to be a "fast bomber" - too fast for fighters of its era to intercept. It failed in this primary objective but went on to be one of the most versatile combat aircraft of the war. It served as a bomber, dive bomber, night fighter, torpedo bomber, reconnaissance aircraft, and heavy fighter.

The JU-88 was produced in large quantity between 1936 to 1945, with more than 15,000 built in dozens of variants. As a testament to the integrity of its basic design. the basic structure of the aircraft remained unchanged thoughout its production lifecycle.

We use the JU-88 as an upgrade to the He-111 and Do-17 bombers. When playing with multiple bomber versions, we start with the Do-17 and allow immediate upgrades to the He-111, then after a certain period of time, allow upgrading to the JU-88.

Each plane contains one small neodymium rare earth magnet so they stick to metal flight stands and all of our aircraft carriers.
