At Axis & Allies Board Gaming we have one simple mission: to improve your gaming experience.

What we do:

All items are custom painted by us and made to order. We provide a unique value proposition over other custom painters: we will craft in volume, and all our carriers and aircraft come fully magnetized.

Custom painted playing pieces brings your game to life

 ▪  What separates us is our attention to detail and uniformity of paint schemes. Each of our pieces looks like the next. There is very little deviation for hand crafted works.

 ▪  All our game pieces are authentically painted. In some cases where colors are too close of a match, we have chosen to use more distinguishable colors.

 ▪  Custom painted units transform your favorite board game into a works of art that will inspire you and your fellow players. We get customer feedback that their children are enthralled by our creativity and it’s hard to keep them away from the game.

 ▪  All game pieces undergo a rigorous painting process. First any excess flashing & burrs are trimmed and smoothed by hand. Next, washes and highlights are applied to bring out the fine details of the sculpt. Custom decals are added and coated with a decal setting solution for superior adherence. And finally, a matte clear coat finish is applied to produce a uniform, non-reflective sheen and for better handling durability.

 ▪  Aircraft carriers get two magnets to accommodate 2 planes. Magnet holes are drilled and magnets are glued into place for carriers and holes filled with putty and sanded smooth. In addition, all aircraft are magnetized with small, but very strong neodymium magnets. Planes adhere to metal flight stands and the carrier decks with enough force that they can be bumped and not fall off. 

Never have to worry about planes falling off carriers again!

Who we are


Greg – This is me. I entered this hobby in January of 2019. I am a prolific A&A miniature painter, and my specialty is naval and aircraft pieces, digital graphics and decal creation. I paint all the pieces and make all the decals offered on this site. I say "we" throughout my site, but it is mostly just me, and sometimes my wife. This is my passion, though not my primary occupation, and sometimes other obligations interfere. I work 70-100 hours a week and have for many years. It's just what I do. I don't have time to do custom work so please don't ask. Typical turn around times are 1-3 weeks on all orders and a little longer for large orders or during peak busy times.

I produce hundreds of pieces a year, perhaps 1000's, but I've never counted them so do't really know. My gallery page only shows a small fraction of my work. This is my workstation desktop and, yes, I do work on this many pieces simultaneously during peak times. It's not easy to keep up!



I started with a philosophy of painting great sets with a fine attention to detail. I found many custom painters unwilling to paint more than a few items at a time and they were unable to maintain a consistent quality over more than a couple of pieces. When items can vary greatly from one another, it becomes noticeable, and the variations can be a distraction - the exact opposite of the effect intended. Through the innovative mix of custom decals and hand painting, I can produce the finest pieces available today, consistently.

Now the boring stuff...

Store Policies

We are constantly striving to deliver the best product possible and therefore reserve the right to update or change paint schemes and/or decals from time to time without notice. Colors may not always match between batch runs.

Fraud Prevention
– We do not accept orders where there is a discrepancy between receiver and payer. The payer’s name & address must match the receiver’s address & name. Further, the address needs to be confirmed by Paypal and the transaction must be eligible for seller protection.


Shipping – We require signature receipt for high value orders. Please contact us if any items were damaged during shipment. Be sure to include photographs of the damaged box and game pieces and we’ll promptly replace the damaged items. If a package appears so badly damaged at the point of delivery that you suspect loss of playing pieces, do not accept the shipment and refuse to sign for delivery.

Return Exceptions

Custom painted Orders: Once custom painted orders are placed, they cannot be canceled or returned. If you have doubts or questions, please contact us. We have provided high resolutions images so look carefully at the look and feel of the game pieces before placing your order.

Individual Items from Bundles/Kits: Bundled items must be returned in their entirety.

Return Policy

ANY ORDER PLACED WITH A&A BOARD GAMING IMPLIES CONSENT TO ABIDE BY A&A BOARD GAMING POLICIES.

The customer has 30 days, starting from the date product is received, to initiate a return. After 30 days items are no longer eligible for return. Special Order Items and custom painted orders are not eligible for return and cannot be refunded.

If an item arrives in an unusable condition, the customer has 30 days to report any damage or defects from the date they received the product. A&A Board Gaming reserves the right to request proof in the form of pictures, samples to prove defects, and to send replacement parts for items under warranty (if a warranty applies).

ALL RETURNS MUST BE AUTHORIZED BY A&A BOARD GAMING BEFORE ANY PRODUCT IS SHIPPED BACK. Return requests usually take to 2 business days to process. Once approved, the customer will be issued a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. This RMA will expire 30 days from the date it is issued. If the RMA expires before the requested products are shipped, the return may be denied or only valid for A&A Board Gaming store credit. If an item is sent back without approval or an approved RMA, the return may not be processed. The customer will be responsible for any shipping costs to have the item returned to them. Unauthorized returns not recovered within 10 days from A&A Board Gaming contacting the customer will be disposed.

PLEASE TAKE PICTURES AND DOCUMENT CONDITION OF ITEMS PLANNED FOR RETURN. Returning an item for refund or exchange implies the item will be received by A&A Board Gaming in a re-sellable or repairable state, unless previous determined to be a manufacture defect. The item must be returned in its original packaging and must include all accessories. If an item is missing its original packaging, the customer may be charged a $10.00 fee to cover additional labor required and the purchase of replacement packaging. Incorrect items returned for exchanges will result in penalties, which may include fees and/or A&A Board Gaming account suspension. Please see the Other Fees section below for more details on fees.

Return Shipping Labels & Other Fees

Shipping Labels: Items being exchanged under warranty, determined to be defective or improperly shipped will receive a return shipping label free of charge.

Shipping labels are electronically sent and can be printed or emailed to the customer themselves. If a return shipping label expires or is lost, additional labels will not be provided, and the customer will be responsible for shipping costs for that return. Labels are for use at carrier drop-off locations. Carrier can be scheduled to pick up the customer's package for an additional cost.

If the customer is responsible for return shipping, they may choose their own shipping method and will communicate the tracking information to A&A Board Gaming. It is recommended that the customer insures their shipment as A&A Board Gaming is not liable for any missing or damaged packages. A&A Board Gaming will not issue refunds for lost items.

If the customer is responsible for return shipping, they can request return labels from A&A Board Gaming with the following fees (per box):


Fees for unused return labels are not eligible for refund.

Other Fees: A&A Board Gaming may charge up to $20.00 for restocking fees on customer-initiated returns.

If an item is returned without the original packaging, the customer may be charged up to $5.00 fee to cover additional labor required and the purchase of replacement packaging.

If the packaging was damaged in shipping, A&A Board Gaming must be provided images of the damage within 5 business days of receiving the package.

A&A Board Gaming may impose additional miscellaneous fees, up to 50% value of an item or the items, on incorrectly returned merchandise.

Refund Process

Items returned for a refund will typically be processed within 3 business days of the time the item is received at our warehouse. Once a refund is processed, it will usually be returned to the originating account within 2 to 5 business days, depending on the customer's banking institution. Refunds for purchases by credit cards that expired after purchase will be refunded via Paypal (if the customer has an active account) or check. Refunds that require a check to be cut may take up to 1 week to process, and in some cases up to 3 to 4 weeks.
