SBD Dauntless Summary

This is a 3D printed sculpt of the SBD Dauntless by GamingStar.

The Douglas SBD Dauntless was the primary naval dive bomber from 1940 through 1944. The Dauntless proved to have good handling characteristics, maneuverability and carried decent armament. Unlike almost all other dive bombers, the Dauntless would often tangle with enemy fighters and live to tell the tale. It is said the Dauntless scored more enemy aircraft kills than its own losses due to enemy action. That's pretty incredible considering she is considered a "bomber". The Dauntless accounted for more enemy ships sunk than any other aircraft in the Pacific. Nearly 6000 were built.

Note: This sculpt is smaller than the out of the box A&A Dauntless, with a wingspan of approximately 26mm vs. 32mm. It is also much more detailed and realistically proportioned.
