GE HE-111 Summary
The Heinkel He-111 was the most numerous Luftwaffe bomber during the early stages of World War II. During the Battle of Britain it was found to have weak defensive armament and therefore always needed fighter protection. Nevertheless, it proved capable of sustaining heavy damage and remaining airborne. The He-111 was continually upgraded and used in a variety of roles on every front throughout the war. It became obsolete as the war turned against Germany and escorting fighter protection could no longer be guaranteed. Production ceased in September of 1944.Add the He-111 to your game for added realism or as an equipment upgrade path for German bombers. We start our games with the He-111 and allow the German player to immediately upgrade to the JU-88. We also use the HBG Do-17 game piece. In these cases, we start with the Do-17 and allow immediate upgrades to the He-111, then after a certain period of time, allow upgrading to the JU-88.
The He-111 is faithfully reproduced using full insignia, top and bottom, and authentic camouflage colors.
Each plane contains one small neodymium rare earth magnet so they stick to metal flight stands and all of our aircraft carriers.
