S-Class Destroyer Summary

This is a 3D printed sculpt of the S-Class destroyer game piece from GamingStar. 

The S and T class was a class of sixteen destroyers of the Royal Navy launched in 1942–1943. They served as fleet and convoy escorts in World War II.

The S class introduced a new gun mounting for the QF Mark IX 4.7 in guns which had a shield with a sharply raked front, to allow increased gun elevation. This shield easily differentiates the S class onwards from their immediate predecessors. The T class essentially similar and replaced tripod foremasts with lattice masts.
