This is a 3D printed sculpts of the HMS Eagle aircraft carrier by GamingStar.
The HMS Eagle was an early aircraft carrier based off a pre-WW1 dreadnaught design. Her conversion to an aircraft carrier was completed in 1924.
The Eagle spent early months of World War II in the Indian Ocean searching for German commerce raiders. Then she was transferred to the Mediterranean where she escorted convoys to Malta and Greece and attacked Italian shipping.. She participated in the Battle of Calabria but her aircraft failed to score any hits when they attempted to torpedo Italian cruisers during the battle.
After completing an extensive refit in early 1942, the Eagle made trips delivering fighter aircraft to Malta. She was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine on 11 August 1942 while escorting a convoy to Malta during Operation Pedestal.
As a light carrier, this sculpt comes with one magnet to hold one magnetized airplane.
