IJN Shōhō Summary

The Shōhō was the second ship and last ship in the Zuiho class of light aircraft carriers. The Zuiho class of ships were designed to be easily modified as an oil tanker, submarine tender, or aircraft carrier as needed. Originally laid down as the submarine tender, she was converted while under construction into an aircraft carrier. The ship was commissioned in November 1941.

Shoho supported the invasion forces in Operation MO, the invasion of Port Moresby, New Guinea, and was sunk by American carrier aircraft on her first combat operation during the Battle of the Coral Sea on 7 May. Shōhō was the first Japanese aircraft carrier to be sunk during World War II.

Choose between a unique, historically accurate wooden flight deck decal or hypothetical late war camouflaged flight deck pattern. The Shoho comes with a strong neodymium rare earth magnet to hold one aircraft.

Purchase a loaded carrier and get a discount on magnetized aircraft.

Never have your airwing fall off a carrier again!

Default magnetic polarity is as shown.

Note: The Shoho light carrier is an HBG game piece and availability is dependent upon this external source.
